Este é o Catarse das Palavras - Volume I, o meu segundo livro bilingue e o mais recente, publicado no Gumroad no dia 24 de outubro de 2025 (dia em que se assinala a 5ª feira negra). Este livro inclui poemas de carácter mais intenso e visceral, é um convite a olhar para os desafios do dia a dia com uma nova perspetiva.

Hoje deixo-te o vídeo de leitura do poema “Quero ir para uma ilha”, que escrevi em 2015 e que me levou a viajar até à Tailândia, às ilhas Phi Phi em 2025.

EN: Hello! We conclude our book presentation series today. After diving into Poetic Animals, Poetic Anthology M.ª Leonor Costa, Worldly Poetry, and The Women We Are: Poems of Strength and Overcoming, and The Time of a Haiku, it is with emotion that I present my sixth published poetry book.

This is Catharsis of Words -Volume I, my second bilingual book and the most recent one, published on Gumroad on October 24, 2025 (the day marking Black Thursday). This book includes poems of a more intense and visceral nature; it is an invitation to look at the challenges of daily life from a new perspective.

Depois de termos mergulhado em Animais Poéticos, Antologia Poética M.ª Leonor Costa, Poesias Mundanas e Mulheres que Somos: Poemas de Força e Superação. hoje o nosso artigo é sobre o quinto livro que publiquei: O Tempo de um Haiku.

Quem me conhece — familiares, amigos e leitores — sabe que tenho uma paixão profunda pela cultura japonesa. Tive o privilégio de estar no Japão em março de 2025, na época mágica das Sakuras (flores de cerejeira), o que foi uma inspiração imensa!

Sou também uma grande admiradora do mestre Matsuo Bashō e, para aprofundar a arte, frequentei um curso de Haikus no Museu do Oriente. Naturalmente, escrevi (e ainda escrevo!) inúmeros Haikus que decidi reunir neste livro singular.

After diving into Poetic Animals, Poetic Anthology M.ª Leonor Costa, Worldly Poetry, and The Women We Are:Poems of Strength and Overcoming, today our article is about the fifth book I published: O Tempo de um Haiku (The Time of a Haiku).

Those who know me — family, friends, and readers — know that I have a deep passion for Japanese culture. I had the privilege of being in Japan in March 2025, during the magical season of the Sakuras (cherry blossoms), which was an immense inspiration!

I am also a great admirer of the master Matsuo Bashō and, to deepen the art, I took a Haiku course at the Museum of the Orient. Naturally, I wrote (and still write!) numerous Haikus that I decided to gather in this singular book.

 

Três Haikus: Para Sentir a Leveza | Three Haikus: To Feel the Lightness

PT: Hoje, para honrar a essência desta forma poética, decidi inverter o formato do nosso artigo. Em vez de áudios e vídeos de leitura pública, quero deixar-te três Haikus para leres no teu próprio ritmo e apreciares a sua leveza.

Chuva fina cai,

A flor de cerejeira abre,

Tempo de meditar.

O vento da manhã,

A folha seca no chão,

Dançando sozinha.

No velho lago,

Um sapo pula na água,

Som de paz na alma.

EN: Today, to honor the essence of this poetic form, I decided to invert the format of our article. Instead of public reading audios and videos, I want to leave you three Haikus to read at your own pace and appreciate their lightness.

Thin rain is falling,

The cherry blossom opens,

Time to meditate.

The morning gentle wind,

The dry leaf upon the ground,

Dancing all alone.

The ancient, still pond,

A frog jumps into the water,

Sound of peace in soul

PT: 4 de fevereiro – Dia Mundial de Superação do Cancro

Olá!

O Dia Mundial contra o Cancro, em 2026, assinala-se na próxima segunda-feira, dia 4 de fevereiro. No entanto, como habitualmente nos encontramos aqui às sextas-feiras, escolho escrever-te hoje. Antecipar esta partilha é a minha forma de garantir que este tema tem o espaço e a atenção que merece, permitindo que a mensagem de esperança chegue a tempo de iluminar o início da tua semana.

Hoje, escolho o silêncio que precede a partilha. Às vezes, a poesia não é apenas o que escrevemos, mas a forma como sobrevivemos ao que a vida nos impõe.

Ao longo dos últimos tempos, tenho guardado um projeto muito especial junto ao peito. Um projeto que não é apenas sobre palavras, mas sobre cicatrizes que se transformaram em luz. Hoje, decidi desvendar um pouco desse "véu": "O Meu Laço Cor-de-Rosa: A Minha História de Superação".

Este é um projeto em desenvolvimento onde mergulho na minha própria jornada. Quero que saibas que, por trás da poeta, existe uma mulher que aprendeu a ver a beleza mesmo nos dias mais cinzentos.

Hello!

World Cancer Day in 2026 falls on the coming Monday, February 4th. However, as we usually meet here on Fridays, I choose to write to you today. Anticipating this sharing is my way of ensuring this topic gets the space and attention it deserves, allowing this message of hope to reach you in time to brighten the start of your week.

Today, I choose the silence that precedes sharing. Sometimes, poetry is not just what we write, but how we survive what life imposes on us.

Over the last few months, I have been keeping a very special project close to my heart. A project that is not just about words, but about scars that have turned into light. Today, I decided to unveil a bit of that "veil": "My Pink Ribbon: My Story of Overcoming".

This is a project in development where I dive into my own journey. I want you to know that behind the poet, there is a woman who learned to see beauty even on the grayest days.

PT: Superação, não Luta / EN: Overcoming, not a Fight

PT: Muitas vezes ouvimos falar em "luta" contra o cancro, mas eu prefiro a palavra Superação. O cancro é uma mutação celular que ocorre dentro de nós; não é um inimigo externo, mas parte de nós que precisa de cuidado e transformação. A palavra superação traz consigo alento, fé e esperança — elementos que considero fundamentais para enfrentar este desafio que pode surgir na vida de qualquer pessoa.

EN: We often hear about the "fight" against cancer, but I prefer the word Overcoming. Cancer is a cellular mutation occurring within us; it’s not an external enemy, but a part of us that needs care and transformation. The word overcoming brings with it solace, faith, and hope — elements I consider fundamental to facing this challenge that can appear in anyone's life.

PT: Mesmo no meio do processo, não deixei a doença retirar o meu brilho. No meu 42.º aniversário, celebrei como se não houvesse amanhã, ao lado da minha sobrinha (que na altura tinha 8 anos e hoje tem 16). Escolher-me como prioridade e decisão foi o que transformou este momento em pura luz.

Cuidar de ti é o primeiro passo da tua superação. Prioriza a tua saúde; escolhe-te sempre como decisão e prioridade.

EN: I also want to make a vital appeal: do not neglect your annual doctor's visit. Early diagnosis saves lives. In its early stages, this challenge has a solution, and I am living proof of that. Taking care of yourself is the first step of your overcoming. Prioritize your health; always choose yourself as a decision and a priority.
