Na minha jornada rumo a esta nova década, tracei uma lista de 50 conquistas que me enriqueceram, moldaram e trouxeram uma profunda sensação de vida plena. Hoje, partilho contigo a quinta dessas vitórias: a alegria e a aprendizagem inestimável de viajar para o estrangeiro.

reader! The countdown to 50 ignites a special flame within us, a mix of
reflection and a renewed desire to live every moment intensely. On my journey
toward this new decade, I’ve outlined a list of 50 achievements that have
enriched me, shaped me, and brought a deep sense of a full life. Today, I share
with you the fifth of these victories: the joy and invaluable learning of
traveling abroad.

PT: Desde cedo, o mundo exerceu um fascínio irresistível. A curiosidade de pisar em terras desconhecidas, de mergulhar em culturas diferentes e de colecionar memórias em paisagens longínquas sempre me impulsionou. E, felizmente, a vida presenteou-me com oportunidades incríveis de concretizar este sonho algumas vezes.
EN: From an early age, the world held an irresistible fascination. The
curiosity to step into unknown lands, to dive into different cultures, and to
collect memories in distant landscapes has always driven me. And, fortunately,
life has gifted me incredible opportunities to make this dream come true a few
times.

PT: A minha aventura pelo globo começou na encantadora Bélgica. As ruas de paralelepípedos de Bruxelas, a arquitetura imponente e a atmosfera acolhedora marcaram as minhas visitas em 1996 e 2004. Mas a Bélgica não se resumiu à sua capital; explorei outras cidades, cada uma com o seu charme e história peculiares, plantando a semente de uma paixão que não pararia de crescer.

around the globe began in charming Belgium. The cobblestone streets of
Brussels, the imposing architecture, and the welcoming atmosphere marked my
visits in 1996 and 2004. But Belgium wasn't limited to its capital; I explored
other cities, each with its peculiar charm and history, planting the seed of a
passion that would never stop growing.

PT: A vibrante Espanha tornou-se um destino recorrente, um mosaico de experiências sensoriais e culturais. De sentir a brisa atlântica em Cádiz e Tarifa à intensidade flamenca de Sevilha, passando pelo glamour de Marbelha e a vivacidade de Málaga e Nerja, cada cidade deixou uma marca indelével. Caminhei pelas ruelas históricas de Granada, maravilhei-me com a beleza natural de Ourence e Verim, explorei o património romano de Badajoz e Mérida, e perdi-me na grandiosidade de Madrid. A diversidade da Espanha é um tesouro que continuo a explorar.
EN: Vibrant Spain became a recurring destination, a
mosaic of sensory and cultural experiences. From feeling the Atlantic breeze in
Cádiz and Tarifa to the flamenco intensity of Seville, passing through the
glamour of Marbella and the liveliness of Málaga and Nerja, each city left an
indelible mark. I walked the historic alleys of Granada, marveled at the
natural beauty of Ourense and Verín, explored the Roman heritage of Badajoz and
Mérida, and got lost in the grandeur of Madrid. Spain’s
diversity is a treasure I continue to explore.

A travessia para o continente africano em 2002 levou-me a Tanger, no Marrocos.
A atmosfera exótica, os aromas intensos, os mercados labirínticos e a cultura
vibrante despertaram em mim uma nova perspectiva sobre o mundo e a sua rica
tapeçaria humana. EN: The crossing to the African continent in 2002 took me
to Tangier, Morocco. The exotic atmosphere, intense aromas, labyrinthine
markets, and vibrant culture awakened in me a new perspective on the world and
its rich human tapestry.

A Minha Passagem por Ceuta / My Time in
Ceuta
PT: A proximidade geográfica levou-me também a Ceuta, em 2004. Esta cidade autónoma espanhola em solo africano proporcionou um fascinante encontro de culturas e uma visão única da complexidade das fronteiras e identidades.

A Vastidão da China: Pequim, Xangai e Xi'an / The Vastness of China: Beijing, Shanghai, and Xi'an
PT: A ousadia de explorar o Oriente levou-me à colossal China. Em Pequim, caminhei pela majestosa Muralha, maravilhei-me com a Cidade Proibida e senti a pulsação de uma história milenar. A modernidade frenética de Xangai contrastou com a riqueza histórica de Xi’an, onde os Guerreiros de Terracota me transportaram para um passado imperial. A China foi uma lição de escala e de diversidade cultural avassaladora.

China. In Beijing, I walked the majestic Great Wall, marveled at the Forbidden
City, and felt the pulse of a thousand-year-old history. The frantic modernity
of Shanghai contrasted with the historical richness of Xi’an, where the
Terracotta Warriors transported me to an imperial past. China was a lesson in
overwhelming scale and cultural diversity.

A Beleza Austera da Noruega: Encantos de Bergen / The Austere Beauty of Norway: Charms of Bergen
PT: A beleza austera da Noruega presenteou-me com a encantadora cidade de Bergen. Os fiordes imponentes, as casas coloridas à beira-mar e a natureza selvagem deixaram-me sem fôlego e revelaram uma faceta diferente da beleza do nosso planeta.

PT: A pequena e charmosa Eslovénia conquistou-me com a sua capital, Liubliana. O rio verde-esmeralda a serpentear pela cidade, o castelo medieval no topo da colina e a atmosfera tranquila fizeram-me sentir num conto de fadas.

As Ilhas da Tailândia / The Islands of

Por fim, a tropical Tailândia presenteou-me com a beleza paradisíaca das ilhas
Phuket e Phi Phi. As águas cristalinas, as praias de areia branca e a
exuberância da natureza foram um bálsamo para a alma e um lembrete da
diversidade estonteante do nosso planeta.

PT: Cada um destes destinos, cada experiência vivida no estrangeiro, foi um tijolo na construção da minha vida plena. Através das viagens, aprendi sobre outras culturas, outras formas de pensar e, acima de tudo, aprendi mais sobre mim. Cada passo em terras desconhecidas expandiu os meus horizontes e enriqueceu a minha alma. E porque as palavras também são uma forma de viajar, deixo-te um pequeno poema inspirado na vastidão do mundo e na alegria de o explorar:

Each of these destinations, every experience lived abroad, was a brick in the
construction of my full life. Through travel, I learned about other cultures, other
ways of thinking, and, above all, I learned more about myself. Every step in
unknown lands expanded my horizons and enriched my soul. And because words are
also a way to travel, I leave you a small poem inspired by the vastness of the

I felt the harsh cold and the tropical

Vast
nature, in its vital embrace.
But
what remains, beyond the yellowed photo,
Is
the invisible mark on the walked soul.
A
more open mind, a vaster heart,
The
deep certainty that the world is a find.
There
remains the gentle longing for a certain place, A flavor in
memory that awakens once more.
The
lesson learned without master or primer,
That
true home is the one the soul shares.
Footsteps
fade in the dust of the road,
But
the vision of the world, that is never erased. Because
traveling is not just going and returning quickly,
It
is planting within us roots of a whole world.
