PT: Escolhi
EN: I chose these five poems to introduce you to my
voice. Each one reveals a facet of my writing: poetry as identity, the
collective voice, the unspeakable, the multiplicity of being and what endures.
Written at different times and in different places, together they form a short
reading journey. Read them slowly.

🪶 Se
tiver de te perder fico com a poesia / If I must lose you, I’ll stay with poetry
|
PT: Se
tiver de te perder fico com a poesia porque
a poesia sou eu Autêntica,
verdadeira e pura Sabe
quem já me leu.
Respiro
poesia como
sopas de letras e palavras vivo
em constante alegoria longe
de ideias parvas.
Posso
te querer para quase tudo mas
não precisar de ti para quase nada Não
consigo escapar de mim mesma Comigo
estou de mão dada.
São
sempre as mesmas palavras com
diferentes combinações em
cada verso, em cada linha, revelando
novas emoções.
A
poesia é o meu abraço quando
o mundo me desiste, é o
refúgio onde me perco e onde
tudo existe.
Se o
fim chegar, deixo o que ficou, nas
páginas que o tempo não apagou, porque
ao perder-te, ganhei-me em versos e a
poesia será sempre o meu universo. |
EN: If I
must lose you, I’ll stay with poetry because poetry is me Authentic, true and pure Those who read me know.
I breathe poetry like a soup of letters and words I live in constant allegory far from foolish ideas.
I may want you for almost everything yet need you for almost nothing I cannot escape from myself I walk hand in hand with myself.
They are always the same words with different combinations in each verse, in each line, revealing new emotions.
Poetry is my embrace when the world gives up on me, it is the refuge where I lose myself and where everything exists.
If the end comes, I leave what remains, on the pages that time didn't erase, because in losing you, I found myself in verses and poetry will always be my universe. |

🪶 Canto canções de
embalar para o meu filho / I sing lullabies to my son
|
PT: Canto
canções de embalar para o meu filho, no
silêncio ao anoitecer, cuido
dele com carinho, sabendo
que ele não quis nascer.
Carrego-o
nos meus braços, dou-lhe
o meu peito, como
não o posso abraçar, em
silêncio aceito.
Dou-lhe
afeto e carinho, por
vezes algum raspanete, aponto-lhe
o caminho, na
minha mente.
É doce
e atinadinho, tem
com quem aprender, quando
dele tenho saudades, no céu
vejo-o crescer. |
EN: I
sing lullabies to my son, in the silence of dusk, I care for him with tenderness, knowing he didn’t want to be born.
I carry him in my arms, I nurse him at my breast, since I cannot hold him close, I accept it in silence.
I give him affection and tenderness, sometimes a little scolding, I show him the way, in my mind.
He is sweet and clever, he has someone to learn from, when I miss him, I see him growing in the sky. |

🪶 Tenho
mais vidas do que um gato / I have more lives than a cat
|
PT: Aquela
vida que vivo! A que
tenho expetativas de viver! A que
pensam que vivo! Aquela
que ainda me resta viver!
A que
divulgo, ou partilho! Aquela
que já se foi! Semeio
e ateio rastilho Por
vezes rio, outras me dói.
A
realidade presente! Tudo
aquilo a que sobrevivi! Aquela
que só existe na minha mente! De
tudo o que me nutre e do que me nutri.
Tantas
vidas para viver Num só
corpo humano Um dia
o mundo viu-me nascer Agora
envelheço ano após ano.
Não
sei se sou uma reencarnação Se em
vidas passadas fui homem, mulher ou animal Desconheço
a tua visão Sei
que aos meus olhos sou especial. |
EN: That
life I live! The one I expect to live! The one they think I live! The one I still have left to live!
The one I make public, or share! The one that has already gone! I sow and light the fuse. Sometimes I laugh, sometimes it hurts.
The present reality! All that I survived! The one that only exists in my mind! Of all that nourishes me, and all I have fed on.
So many lives to live In a single human body One day the world saw me born Now I grow old year by year.
I don't know if I'm a reincarnation If in past lives I was man, woman or animal I don't know your vision I know that in my own eyes I am special. |

🪶 O Meu Nome vai ficar para a História / My Name will go down in
History
|
PT: O
meu nome vai ficar para a história Numa
rua, avenida, ou cidade, Num
beco não, Esta é
a realidade.
Algures
vão colocar uma placa Com
cerimónia de inauguração Verei
reconhecidos os meus feitos Numa
parede, no chão não.
O meu
nome vai ganhar significado Porque
dei significado à vida Espalhei
a língua portuguesa além-fronteiras Servi
por isso não serei esquecida.
Reinventei-me
vezes sem conta Fui
rainha e guerreira Nunca
baixei os braços Fui
poetisa e pioneira.
As
letras são o meu refúgio Quando
as lágrimas não me conseguem aliviar. As
poesias são os meus pensamentos Que
pedem para se libertar |
EN: My
name will go down in history In a street, avenue, or city, Not in an alleyway, This is the reality.
Somewhere they will place a plaque With an opening ceremony I will see my deeds recognized On a wall, not on the ground.
My name will gain meaning Because it gave meaning to life I spread the Portuguese language beyond borders I served; therefore, I shall not be forgotten.
I reinvented myself countless times I was a queen and a warrior I never lowered my arms I was a poet and a pioneer.
Letters are my refuge When tears fail to soothe me. Poems are my thoughts Begging to be set free. |
