PT: Poema "Foste Cruel": Desafiando os Fantasmas do Passado (Série: 👄 Nonô Lê Versos do Blogue) / EN: Poem "You Were Cruel": Challenging the Ghosts of the Past (Series: 👄 Nonô Reads Blog Verses)

We've reached the last day of October, a month that holds so many meanings for me. On one hand, we say goodbye to Pink October, but let's remember that breast cancer prevention is a battle that continues every day, with every self-exam and every appointment. It's a commitment to our life that must remain beyond the pink ribbon.

On the other hand, the air is already filling with a certain mysticism with the approach of Halloween! Pumpkins, spider webs, and costumes fill the streets, and the "Trick or Treat" game brings a smile to the faces of young and old.

And it is precisely in this atmosphere of mystery and (re)encounters with the past that today I bring you a poem that, in a way, is dressed for the occasion. A poem that, like certain memories, sometimes haunts us, but which I now accept and transform.

Poesias da Nonô

PT: Foste Cruel

Foste ignóbil e cruel

sem mostrar arrependimento

Será que querias que eu

tivesse outro entendimento?

Momentos de ouro

vida com muito valor

enquanto me curo

vibro na frequência do amor.

Só escolho, quem me escolhe,

amo quem me quer amar

sei que o amor não encolhe

e quem me ama é para me cuidar.

Continuas à espreita

Sem coragem de me procurar

Quem é torto não se endireita

De novo não me vais enganar.

em minha casa, Mem-Martins.

EN: You Were Cruel

You were ignoble and cruel

without showing repentance

Did you want me to

have a different understanding?

Golden moments

life with great value

while I heal

I vibrate on the frequency of love.

I only choose who chooses me,

I love who wants to love me

I know that love does not shrink

and whoever loves me is meant to care for me.

You continue to lurk

Without the courage to look for me

What is crooked doesn't straighten

You won't deceive me again.
