Today, May 22nd, we celebrate Portuguese Author's Day. For me, being an author in this language is much more than writing; it is a mission to bring our essence to the world. I write with the conviction of someone who finds their truth in words and with the lightness of someone who knows that poetry is a bridge without borders.

EN: To mark this day, I share with you a poem that defines my position and my commitment to the world. In this version, I combined my writing with an AI musical interpretation, giving a new rhythm to our language.

🇬🇧 International Version (English)

Nesta língua revelo a beleza.

Verso a vida, verto o coração,

Com brio, verdade e clareza.

Venço barreiras, cruzo fronteiras,

Para difundir ideias e sinais.

Entre letras, verdades inteiras:

Das coisas belas às mais fatais.

Sou autora portuguesa, com orgulho,

Maria Leonor Costa e Nonô.

Em português no mundo mergulho

Com a essência daquilo que sou.

🖋️ I am a Portuguese Language Author

I am an author in the Portuguese tongue,

With the dream of taking it to the world.

I write with soul and lightheartedness,

In a thought that pulses deep.

In the spoken word or in song,

In this language, I reveal beauty.

I verse life, I pour out my heart,

With pride, truth, and clarity.

I overcome barriers, I cross borders,

To spread ideas and signs.

Among letters, whole truths:

From beautiful things to the most fatal.

I am a Portuguese author, with pride,

Maria Leonor Costa and Nonô.

In the Portuguese language, I dive

With the essence of who I am.

💋 Palavra final / Final words

EN: The Portuguese language is my working tool, but also my home. On this Portuguese Author's Day, I celebrate all those who write, read, and keep this shared heritage alive. Today I celebrate the pride of being a voice in this rich language, overcoming barriers and revealing the beauty (and harshness) of life through the gathering of letters. Thank you for walking this path with me.
