Acordo Ortográfico de 1990 surgiu com o intuito de unificar a escrita e
facilitar a circulação de livros e cultura. No entanto, a língua é feita de
pessoas, não apenas de decretos. Enquanto a ortografia se aproxima, a alma de
cada variante — o "português de Luanda", o "falar
brasileiro" ou o "sotaque de Lisboa" — mantém-se vibrante e
distinta. Escrever é, para ti e para mim, respeitar essas nuances que nos
tornam uma comunidade global de quase 300 milhões de vozes.

writing and facilitate the flow of books and culture. However, language is made
of people, not just decrees. While spelling draws closer, the soul of each
variant — the "Portuguese from Luanda," the "Brazilian way of

distinct. To write is, for you and me, to respect these nuances that make us a
global community of nearly 300 million voices.
