Hello, I was recently in the Marechal Carmona Park in Cascais and I remembered something curious about the book
"Poetic Animals" (Book only available in Portuguese).
For those who don't know,
"Poetic Animals" (Book only available in Portuguese) is the first book by M.ª Leonor Costa (Nonô) and was
published in May 2021.
It's a book of illustrated poetry for
children and is an excellent way to familiarise your child with poetry, a
subject that will be useful throughout their school career.
Returning to the curiosity that
brought me here today, I'm talking about the place where the idea for this book
was born,Marechal Carmona Park. If you have the opportunity to visit, you'll be
enchanted by the number of animals that can be seen roaming freely in the garden.
I'm talking about roosters, ducks, peacocks, turtles and a relaxing contact
with nature in the heart of Cascais. For those of you who are curious to know

Hello, this section
arose from the need to let my followers know about relevant initiatives and
activities in the field of poetry that Nonô attends or takes part in.
2/09/2023 - as I've already told you, Nonô was one of the judges at the Poetry Slam Sintra 2023 and read two of her poems to the
audience.
23/09/2023 -Nonô attended the
"My Illustrated Postcard" workshop at Casa dos Hipopótamos na Luaand
took the opportunity to donate an autographed copy of "Animais
Poéticos" (Poetic Animals) to be included in the collection of this idyllic house of
children's books, located in the gardens of the Municipal Library of Sintra.
Here are some photos I took of the space and with the person in charge of it,
Nazaré.
September 27 - Womens' AM book club
- James Allen "You are what you think" - Nonô read and re-read this
book, took notes and took part in this club.
September 30 - Presentation of the collection "Duelos Poéticos - Paixão a Duas Almas" (Poetic Duels - Passion for Two Souls) - this collection contains two texts by Nonô created together with João Dórdio. One of the texts was initiated by me, the other by him. The launch session will take place this afternoon. The event has since been postponed and I've opted to go to Sintra to write new poetry.
So, a month has passed with many
poetic entries and unfortunately, I've had to turn some down.

22/03/2023 - At the end of the afternoon it was time for me to dedicate myself to creativity. I sent two poems for a new collection that will be published on 06/11/2023 at the 93rd Lisbon Book Fair. This is the collection Intimista poems on Eroticism and Sensuality coordinated by the poet Ana Acto and will be published by the publisher In-Finita.
INA Course at the Institute for Advanced Military Studies
23 e 24/03/2023 –It was two days of training at the Institute for Higher Military Studies in Algés. One of the things I liked were the beautiful peacocks that you can see wandering around and with spring coming they are in mating season and have beautiful feathers to show off.
By coincidence, the peacock is one of the animals illustrated in my first published book of children's illustrated poetry Poetic Animals “Animais Poéticos”.
The "Nextdoor Neighbor" Theater
25/03/2023 –In the evening it was time to go to the Theater, to see my dear friend Fatima act, in the play "The Neighbor Next Door". The character she plays is a lovely French girl, I simply loved it!

28/03 e 4/04/2023-I attended the fourth and the fifth and last sessions of Corpo d'Escrita | Creative Writing on Feminism(s), at the Galveias Municipal Library. Another meeting for sharing and intergenerational dialogue.
Book Reception - Penguin - International
Women's Day
29/03/2023 –The books sent to my house by Penguin, which I told you about in last month's article, an initiative that took place on Avenida da Liberdade as part of International Women's Day, have arrived.
Wild Writing
29/03/2023 –time for another session of Wild Writing. I wrote two new poems and received a nice compliment from one of the participants. I lived it, but I didn't photograph it.
High Performance
31/03 1 e 2/04 /2023 –three days of personal development - Restart - Jorge Coutinho - in the auditorium of the Faculty of Dental Medicine, in Lisbon. An extremely impactful dive. I even managed to break a board with my hand.
Going to the Beach to Read and Write
Assim As soon as the sun came out and the heat was on, I was on my way to the beach to read, write, and savor the latest in ice cream.

11/04/2023 – I have started a new Creative Writing course at the Galveias Library in Lisbon.
My sister's birthday
13/04/2023 – My sister blew out her 50 candles. The party took place yesterday 16/04/2023 in Alentejo.
Party for my sister Margarida's 50th birthday and her sister-in-law Ana's 60th birthday.
For today I say goodbye, for now I'm going on a trip. I'll be back in May with fresh news to tell you.
Hello, we have
reached the last post of the month of November here on the Nonô Poetry blog.
Christmas is 1 month away and shortly after that; another year is over.
The
top ten highlights of Nonô Poetry in 2022 are:
1 - In January
2022, the odyssey of publishing Poetic Animals videos and audios ended after 7
months.
2 - Since this
blog was created, 2022 was the year in which I published the fewest articles,
about eighty articles so far (Portuguese and English).
3 - On the other
hand, 2022 was the year in which I published the most on social networks.
Besides promoting the blog articles, I created the Marathons: 4.7, Rose,
Uni-verse and from December 1 until January 6, 2023, we will have Christmas
Haikus.
4 - 2022, is also
marked by the publication of the first volume of Worldly Poetry, on Amazon.
5 - This was a
year of profound changes and in April I even took a pause to reflect on the
direction I should take with this project. Every entrepreneur goes through
doubts and must be able to define a strategy for the future to be able to
continue.
6 - 2022, was also
the year I managed to get my books for sale at “Gatafunho” bookstore, in
Oeiras (Portugal).
7 - This was also
the year I went out more often to read in public, twice at the CCB and once at
the Coach Museum.
8 - One of the
biggest insights of the year is that between what you create and the ideas you
have and what is feasible for a person, you have to keep an exceptionally good balance, a
lot of motivation and determination.
9 - This was also
a year of great learning.
10 - After 8
years, between attempts, mistakes, and some more accurate bets, I'm continuing
to boost this solo project, whose goal is not to be so alone anymore.
These are the most
remarkable aspects of the year 2022.

is almost over, it lasts until November 30th. Look for @poesiasdanono so you
can attend! In this Marathon it is possible to draw some inspiration.

Hello, last week
we had tea together, this week I invite you to celebrate with me the Magusto,
with chestnuts and jeropiga, while I share with you some curiosities about the
"M. ª Leonor Costa - Nonô's Poetic Anthology" and promote the reading
of some poems from this book.
To begin, I will
tell you about some important aspects of the "M.ª Leonor Costa - Nonô's
Poetic Anthology":
1 - This book is
part of the collection Dispersos - a set of books that brings together some
authors of poetry.
2 - It is a book
published through the In-finita publishing house.
3 - It includes,
one hundred and fourteen poems, a love letter, and a short Christmas story,
which were published in several anthologies. Also, it includes eight writings
submitted to contests, of which six are poems and two are letters.
6 - For the cover
were chosen the colors that represent Poesias da Nonô. Pink and black.
7 - The picture on
the cover and next to Nonô's biography was taken when I went to the SIC
television channel, to the program "Casa Feliz" presented by João
Baião and Diana Chaves.
8 - At the bottom
of each page you can see the Nonô's Poetry logo.

9 - The book can
be acquired directly from the author (Available only in Portuguese - poesiasdanono@gmail.com).
10 - This is my
second book, and it was released in 2021, two months after "Animais
Poéticos" (Poetic Animals).
I have thus
recorded ten curiosities about a book that gave me enormous pleasure to
compile.
