Hello, in today's article, I'm going to write a little about some practical tips that anyone who wants to start writing can use:

1 - Always carry something to record your ideas - a notebook and pencil or pen, a mobile phone with a written or audio recording app.

2 - Be aware of the world around them and record everything their senses pick up: sounds, smells, images, emotions, ideas, thoughts, etc. I should point out here that ideas often come to you in the most unusual places (while you're sleeping; while you're showering; on walks, etc.).

3 - Enjoy reading. A good writer is first and foremost a good reader.

4 - Being open to learning new things, such as culture, ideas, concepts, etc.

6 - Attend training sessions, workshops, book clubs.

7 - Participate in groups to share your writing: gatherings, book clubs, etc.

8 - If you want to publicise what you write, you shouldn't be afraid to write and you should lose the shame of showing off, exposing yourself and making your ideas public. Don't fear the judgement of others, I can assure you that it will happen.

9 - You can create a page, blog or social media site to share content.

10 - Constantly evolve.

1 - Andar sempre acompanhado com algo que sirva de meio de registo de ideias – caderno e lápis ou caneta, telemóvel com aplicação de registo escrito ou por áudio.

2 - Estar atento ao mundo em redor e registar tudo aquilo que os sentidos captam: sons, cheiros, imagens, emoções, ideias, pensamentos, etc. Devo aqui alertar que muitas vezes as ideias surgem nos sítios mais inusitados (enquanto dorme; enquanto toma banho; em caminhadas, etc.).

3 - Gostar de ler. Um bom escritor é antes de mais um bom leitor.

4 - Estar disponível para aprender coisas novas, tais como, cultura, ideias, conceitos, etc.

6 - Frequentar ações de formação, workshops, clubes de leitura.

7 - Participar de grupos de partilha das suas escritas: tertúlias, clubes de leitura, etc.

8 - Caso queira divulgar o que escrever, não deverá ter medo de escrever e deve perder a vergonha de mostrar, de se expor e tornar públicas as ideias. Não temer o medo do julgamento alheio, posso vos assegurar que esse julgamento vai acontecer.

9 - Pode criar uma página, blogue ou de social de partilha de conteúdos.

10 - Estar em constante evolução.

Hello, when I read this short summary, I wrote about my literary career for the 9th Lisbon Poetry Festival 2024, because it was so succinct, I felt that some references and important aspects of my career weren't made clear enough:

- I started writing around the age of 15 (1990 - I still have handwritten poems from that time);

- On October 2, 2014, I created a poetry blog which is currently called "Poesias da  Nonô" (Nonô Poetry);

- Since 2015 I have participated in more than 51 collective works (Collections and Poetic Anthologies) and have seen around 138 of my poems, 1 letter and 1 short story published by 9 different publishers;

- In 2020, I published "Poetic Animals" and in the same year the anthology M.ª Leonor Costa (Nonô), in the collection Dispersos;

- In 2022, I published "PoesiasMundanas / Worldly Poetry - volume I" on Amazon in 6 versions - Bilingual (PT and ING), Portuguese, English, E-book Bilingual (PT and Ing), Portuguese, English.

My literary career is full of many more experiences. I just thought I should elaborate and clarify the aspects that were left vague in the short summary next to the image.

Olá, quando li este pequeno resumo que escrevi sobre o meu percurso literário, para o 9º Festival de Poesia de Lisboa 2024, por ser tão sucinto, senti que algumas referências e aspetos importantes do meu percurso não ficaram suficientemente esclarecidos:

- Comecei a escrever por volta dos 15 anos (1990 – ainda tenho poemas manuscritos dessa altura);

- Em 2 de outubro 2014 criei um blogue de poesia que atualmente se intitula “Poesias da Nonô”;

- Desde 2015 participei em mais de 51 obras coletivas (Coletâneas e AntologiasPoéticas) e vi cerca de 138 dos meus poemas, 1 carta e 1 conto serem publicados, em 9 editoras diferentes;

- Em 2020, publiquei “Animais Poéticos” e no mesmo ano Antologia M.ª Leonor Costa (Nonô), in coleção Dispersos;

- Em 2022, publiquei “Poesias Mundanas / Worldly Poetry - volume I” na Amazon em 6 versões – Bilingue (PT e ING), Português, Inglês, E-book Bilingue (PT e Ing), Português, Inglês. 

O meu percurso literário está repleto de muito mais experiências. Apenas achei que devia desenvolver e clarificar os aspetos que ficaram vagos no pequeno resumo junto à imagem.

Hello, on 5 June I had the privilege of joining my father for his usual visit to the Lisbon Book Fair.

This event, now in its 94th year, includes numerous stands from various bookshops, publishers, booksellers, and distributors where you can buy books at a discount. Especially during the H-hour, which runs from Monday to Thursday, between 9pm and 10pm, and during which some books can be discounted by up to 50%.

From the articles I read, I thought that this would be one of the Fairs with the most representation from publishers and bookshops, but in my perception, it didn't seem to differ much from the last editions of the Fair. But it's still an important event in the capital for those who love books and reading.

For those interested, the Fair will continue until 16 June 2024.

For those who don't have the opportunity to visit the Lisbon Book Fair, you can attend the Porto Book Fair, which will run from 23 August until 8 September 2024. There are also Book Fairs in other regions of the country, such as Aveiro, Coimbra and Braga.
