EN: I saw it in libraries like the National Library and Biblioteca das Galveias. I saw it in bookstores, at book fairs, on school bookshelves, in readers' homes — and, most special of all, in the hands of children.

PT: Ouvi o meu livro ser lido por inúmeras crianças… e emocionei-me. Algumas ainda mal sabiam ler, mas já sabiam sentir. E isso vale mais do que mil críticas literárias.

EN: I heard my book being read by countless children... and it moved me to tears. Some could barely read yet, but they already knew how to feel. And that is worth more than a thousand literary reviews.

PT: Escrevi-o a pensar em todos, mas há algo de mágico quando o vejo a ser lido pelos mais pequenos. Eles não julgam versos — sentem-nos.
