PT: Olá,
querido leitor!
A
The first time I did volunteer work
was between 2008 and 2010, at the university library of the Faculty of Arts. I
cataloged various books after working hours, immersed among pages, authors, and
stories — a discreet experience, but full of meaning.

EN: In 2024, I signed up for environmental volunteering at the ADN Ambiente Association, where I participated in collecting samples for the Atlas and in various field trips. It was a reunion with nature and with the value of every gesture for the planet.
PT: Está
nos meus horizontes continuar a fazer voluntariado. É sempre uma forma de
retribuir, aprender, sair de mim e conhecer pessoas com valores que me
inspiram.
EN: It is on my horizon to continue volunteering. It is
always a way to give back, learn, step outside myself, and meet people with
values that inspire me.

📝 Poema / Poem: ✨ Voluntariado /
Volunteering
📝 Poema: ✨ Voluntariado
Há
gestos que não cabem em vitrines,
nem
se medem a ouro ou a linhas finas,
cabem
no peito, silenciosos, puros,
e
valem o mundo, os gestos mais duros.
É
dar sem esperar, ser luz sem pedido,
é
estar sem chamada, é amor não dito,
é
ouvir sem julgar, é tempo ofertado,
é
dar de si inteiro, mesmo cansado.
Crianças
que buscam um colo amigo,
almas
pequenas a pedir abrigo —
há
quem lhes leve pão e palavras ternas,
há
quem leve livros criando memórias eternas.
Famílias
que carregam o peso do medo,
precisam
ouvir: "Tu não estás só, cedo
alguém
chega, de alma aberta e mãos dadas,
sem
câmaras, medalhas ou palavras vangloriadas."
Desfavorecidos,
filhos da sorte dura,
que
não escolheram onde nasce a sua,
precisam
de alento, de empurrão suave,
de
quem acredita no futuro que cabe.
Voluntário
é quem planta esperança,
em
chão árido, mas cheio de dança,
quem
segura a dor como se fosse flor,
cuidando
do outro com todo o amor.
E
no fim do dia, quando tudo cansa,
não
há riqueza que igual a esperança,
de
saber que fizemos, de alma inteira,
a
diferença alenta, nunca se perde na poeira.
EN: (Poetic Translation)
There are gestures that fit no display case,
nor are measured in gold or fine thread,
they fit in the chest, silent, pure,
and are worth the world, the hardest gestures.
It is giving without expecting, being light unasked,
it is being present uncalled, unspoken love,
it is listening without judging, offered time,
it is giving oneself entirely, even when tired.
Children seeking a friendly lap,
small souls asking for shelter —
some bring them bread and tender words,
others bring books, creating eternal memories.
Families carrying the weight of fear,
need to hear: "You are not alone, soon
someone arrives, open-souled and hand in hand,
without cameras, medals, or vain words."
The underprivileged, children of harsh fortune,
who did not choose where theirs was born,
need comfort, a gentle push,
from those who believe in a possible future.
A volunteer is one who plants hope,
in arid soil, yet full of dance,
who holds pain as if it were a flower,
caring for others with all their love.
And at the end of the day, when weariness comes,
there is no wealth that equals the hope,
of knowing we made, with a whole soul,
a comforting difference that is never lost in dust.
