EN: Poetry doesn't ask for permission, nor is it meant to soothe: it is a living territory of catharsis, voice, and attitude. I am M.ª Leonor Costa (Nonô) — writer, performer, and creator of Poesias da Nonô. I give body, sound, and presence to spoken word in Portuguese and English, inhabited by heteronyms navigating the visceral, the sacred, and the everyday. Step inside. Read with your body, listen with your skin, and inhabit this space.

Amores Platónicos / Platonic loves - Há coisas que nunca irás saber / There are things you will never know

There are things you will never know

Agora ela ficou contigo
Finges não ser de mais ninguém
Mais do que um porto de abrigo
Uma mulher tem de ser amada também.

Tudo é uma questão de tempo
Quem faz duas faz três
A vida dá muitas voltas

Poema manuscrito,

There are things you will never know
You did not stay long enough to find out
Without resistance
I let you go.

What is not given freely
Not worth keeping
Feeling of truth
It does not come to make us suffer.

Now she stays with you
Pretend you're no one else
More than a haven of shelter
A woman has to be loved too.

It's all a matter of time
Who makes two makes three
Life takes many turns
Soon it will be my turn.

Mem-Martins, Sitting in my parents' living room,
Handwritten poem,
