EN: Poetry doesn't ask for permission, nor is it meant to soothe: it is a living territory of catharsis, voice, and attitude. I am M.ª Leonor Costa (Nonô) — writer, performer, and creator of Poesias da Nonô. I give body, sound, and presence to spoken word in Portuguese and English, inhabited by heteronyms navigating the visceral, the sacred, and the everyday. Step inside. Read with your body, listen with your skin, and inhabit this space.

Natal / Christmas - Um tesouro escondido no presépio / A treasure hidden in the crib

A treasure hidden in the crib
Fotografia tirada por mim / Photograph taken by
Um tesouro escondido no presépio
Jogo de pistas para o descobrir
Como se fosse o fim do arco-íris
Até ao fim do mundo deves ir.

Pode não ser palpável
Aquilo que tens de encontrar
Procura também dentro de ti
Um achado pode estar em qualquer lugar.

Levanta todas as camadas
Em todos os recantos podes ver
Mesmo que hoje não encontres
Não deves esmorecer.

Busca e rebusca
Algo irás conseguir melhorar
Podes não escolher o mesmo que eu
Só tu sabes onde irás chegar.

A treasure hidden in the crib
Set of clues to discover
As if it were the end of the rainbow
Until the end of the world you must go.

May not be palpable
What you need to find
Search also inside you
One find can be anywhere.

Raises all layers
In every corner you can see
Even though today you can’t find
You must not faint.

Search and browse
Something you will get better
You can’t choose the one I
Only you know where you will arrive.
