Poesias Mundanas / Worldly Poetry - Trás-os-Montes (Portugal)

Portugal

Trás-os-Montes

Há cedros, carvalhos e oliveiras

Ao longo do caminho

Há mimosas, pinheiros e giestas

A rebentar bem de mansinho.

Há verdes pastos

Com animais a pastar

Também se encontram vinhas

E outras colheitas acabadas de semear.

Há casas feias e bonitas

E muitos vales e montes

Há vestígios de outros tempos

E alguns riachos, e fontes.

Há dias de muito frio

E outros com muito calor

Há pessoas humildes e alegres

E carnes com muito sabor.

Assim é Trás-os-Montes

Uma região do interior

Onde o ar é puro e fresco

E onde só se vive por amor.

Trás-os-Montes (Portugal)

There are cedars, oaks, and olive trees

Along the path

There are mimosas, pines, and broom trees

Bursting well slowly.

There are green pastures

With grazing animals

There are also vineyards

And other freshly sown crops.

There are ugly and beautiful houses

And many valleys and hills

There are traces of other times

And some streams, and fountains.

There are very cold days

And others very hot

There are humble and happy people

And meats with lots of flavor.

This is Trás-os-Montes

A region in the interior

Where the air is pure and fresh

And where one only lives for love.
